The midfielder’s career-defining stoppage-time strike sealed a seismic 2-1 fifth-round FA Cup victory in front of the Kop, on Barnsley's unlikely march to the semifinals before losing to Cardiff at Wembley.

Now 42, the former England Under-20 international said:

“It felt like something written in the stars. I'd done an interview before the game, and the last line said something like, ‘If I score a last-minute winner at the Kop End, I'd be a Barnsley legend forever’.
