AN ice hockey fan jetted off on a 24-hour trip to watch the Winter Olympics - for less than £100.

John McAllister, 27, paid just £96 for his flights, taxi and tickets to watch the clash in Milan.

The content creator was desperate to watch the tournament live but was put off by hotel prices - with some charging £1,000 a night.

John, who did a 1,400 mile-round trip to watch the action, said: “I decided to take an extreme ‘day trip’.
