Food chain issue linked to falling salmon numbers
SCIENTISTS believe they have found a tiny but vital clue to the decline of wild salmon in Scotland's waters.
Minuscule creatures that are linked to the king of fish's food chain have seriously declined.
Fish that feed on zooplankton, which have decreased in number, are, in turn, eaten by salmon.
