Abuser who 'frightened the child into silence' is jailed for ten years

A man has been jailed for 10 years for abusing a young girl who he “frightened into silence” Karl Taylor was convicted after a trial of five child sex offences but has not yet “faced up” to his crimes, a court heard.

A judge at Mold Crown Court heard the 49-year-old, of Brook Park Avenue, Prestatyn, was found guilty of assaulting the child by penetration, two counts of assaulting the child by touching, and two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Prosecutor Simon Rogers read two impact statements. In one the victim said no adult let alone a child should have been put through this experience. ‘the victim thanked the court for giving them “the freedom to be a child again’.
