A SUPERMARKET has introduced new rules and surveillance cameras in a bid to tackle parking issues.

Euro Car Parks has assumed control of the car park at Morrisons in Holyhead, following concerns over the "high volume of litter" including human waste. There has been a mixed reaction from readers of our website, North Wales Live.

The car park had been utilised by lorry drivers due to a lack of dedicated lorry stop facilities in Holyhead, despite it being the UK's second busiest roll-on/roll-off ferry port.

This issue has been ongoing in Holyhead, particularly since HMRC took over the old Roadking truck stop site to establish a customs facility post-Brexit.

For Morrisons, this has resulted in lorries using its large car park just off the A55. Some car drivers have also used the site for extended stays, combining a supermarket trip with a meal.
