Wood feels the need for speed

MARK WOOD says he will never compromise his raw pace, even if learning a new skill makes him more "deadly".

One of the stars of England's 10-wicket hammering of West Indies last week, Wood believes he can maintain his lightning speed for longer periods - and that is his No.1 priority.

He clocked more than 90mph regularly during Tests at Trent Bridge and Edgbaston, and blasted out five West Indies batsmen in 21 balls in Birmingham, as England sealed a series clean sweep.
