Daily coffee helps women to age better

Three cups really hit the spot

WOMEN who drink coffee each day are healthier and sharper in later life, scientists say.

Researchers followed tens of thousands of women from middle age until they were 70-plus and found that three small daily cups was the sweet spot for better ageing.

Tea and decaffeinated coffee did not have the same benefits — while colas were “strongly associated” with poorer health when older.

The analysis accounted for other factors that may have an influence, including weight, smoking, alcohol intake and physical activity.
