Brothers' 'high level of violence' in attack on police, court told

TWO brothers used a “high level of violence” in assaulting police officers at Manchester Airport, a jury heard.

Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and Muhammad Amaad, 26, are said to have struck after police went to arrest them for attacking a member of the public in a Terminal Two cafe on July 23 last year.

Amaaz headbutted and punched the victim in front of his children in Starbucks, Liverpool Crown Court heard after he had fallen out with the accused's mother on a plane.

Paul Greaney KC said officers traced the brothers to the terminal’s car park payment area.

Three officers, PC Zachary Marsden and PC Ellie Cook both armed and PC Lydia Ward, unarmed, approached, he said.
