Sport stars join ‘F1 of water’

STAR athletes LeBron James and Rafael Nadal have taken to the waves for a new sporting challenge, dubbed the “F1 of the water”.

The E1 Series, the world’s first all-electric international powerboat racing championship, is one of the fastest-growing sports competitions around — and A-listers are queuing up to get involved.

Basketball great James, tennis legend Nadal and actor Will Smith are among the celebrity team owners in the new water sport.

The championship is the brainchild of Formula E founder Alejandro Agag and former F1 engineer Rodi Basso, who worked with Ferrari, Red Bull and McLaren.
