Hwbs are here to help your claims

CARMARTHENSHIRE Council has helped almost 6,000 residents claim for more than £7.5m in support and benefit payments over the past 18 months.

As part of its Hwbs programme, the council has a dedicated team of advisers who are there to listen and help people apply for the support, services and money they may be entitled to.

Since the start of 2024, 5,745 residents have been helped by the council.

Hwb advisors have supported applications for council and third-party support schemes including disabled parking blue badges, council tax discounts, personal independence payments (PIP) and grants to help parents purchase school essentials such as uniforms.

There are four ways to access this support:

■ Visit the council's Claim What's Yours web page, where you can access information on a wide range of support schemes or arrange to speak with an adviser.

■ Visit one of the council's Hwb centres at Carmarthen, Llanelli and Ammanford and speak to an adviser.
