CONTROVERSIAL Birmingham ‘TikTok solicitor’ Akhmed Yakoob has broken his silence after he was charged with money laundering.
It has emerged that Yakoob, 37, of Perry Barr, and accountant Nabeel Azfal 38, of Edgbaston, have been accused of money laundering, encouraging money laundering, and contravening a requirement to apply customer due diligence measures when establishing a business relationship.
Taking to social media, Yakoob told his 211,000 followers: "Today's newspapers are only going to be used to wrap up tomorrow's bag of chips. All is well. Alhamdulillah. Remember that.”
The National Crime Agency said the allegations covered a period between February 18, 2020 and January 8, 2021.
The pair are due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on June 17.
