COUNCIL CELEBRATES AS CHILDREN'S SERVICES GETS HIGHEST ACCOLADE
WALSALL Council has become the first metropolitan authority in the West Midlands to be rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted for its children's services.
The accolade is a huge turnaround for the authority after it was judged as 'requires improvement' in 2017.
The Ofsted report said that political and corporate leaders have 'worked relentlessly' to understand the needs of the communities which they serve.
It said all the areas for development identified at the previous inspection have been addressed and improved.
