SEATED & SERVED

Just as the weather changes in time for indoor festivities, your home can make slight adjustments, too, to ensure all the holiday has to offer is comfortable and inviting. A pair of rooms from the Nashville Design Awards-a living room by Jonathan Savage and a bar by Jennifer Cataldo and Richard T. Anuszkiewicz-highlight timeless style and also serve up strategies for making the season's brightest entertaining statements.

For Savage, a living room with grand proportions ought to see double. His space, adorned with classic architectural paneling, is split into two distinct areas amid the cohesion of a neutral palette and the glimmer of crystal chandeliers. "Make large rooms cozy and intimate so they don't overwhelm," Savage says.

Cataldo and Anuszkiewicz's jewel box of a whiskey bar embraces holiday glamour. Fluted, gold-tone barstools and a cabinet that conceals a lacquered interior speak to a stylish night out, while hair-on-hide counters and neon lasso lighting sing a visual tune of equine life.

No matter the forecast, celebrating with friends and family in spaces like these is sure to stir memories for years to come and inspire timeless tips to shift rooms into entertaining mode.
