From the moment Lola collapsed in the community-centre toilets, life has dealt her one cruel blow after another. She was diagnosed with a brain tumour that proved incurable and, despite gruelling chemotherapy treatment, was later told she had less than six months to live.

This week, as the crimper’s condition deteriorates, doctors make an announcement that leaves her and Jay reeling. Is her inevitable death closer than either of them had ever imagined?
