HARRY JETS IN FOR DRAMATIC WEEK

The Duke of Sussex follows his legal challenge over his family's safety with a surprise trip to see war victims

They were briefly in the same city at the same time, but there was no reunion between the King and his younger son after the Duke of Sussex jetted into London for his latest legal battle, ahead of a surprise visit to Ukraine to meet war victims.

Prince Harry's arrival in the capital coincided with His Majesty's trip to hospital for scheduled cancer treatment ahead of his state visit to Italy last week.

Although they were within a few miles of one another, a reunion between father and son was said not to be possible.

While the King and Queen celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary at a glittering state banquet in Rome, Harry, 40, was in the Court of Appeal, where his barrister argued that the downgrading of his royal security had put his life “at stake”.

The Duke had flown in from Los Angeles to challenge the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office, after his blanket police protection in the UK was removed when he and his wife the Duchess stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
