BMW collection soars in Munich

Bavarian Legends Collection raises €7,725,625 at new RM venue

RM SOTHEBY'S HAS posted some phenomenal results at its first Munich auction - perhaps not surprisingly, many top lots came from a privately owned BMW museum. Top seller from the Bavarian Legends Collection was a 1958 507 Roadster at €1,917,500 (above), although the most significant result was the 1980 BMW M1. This unique grey example, delivered new to the model's creator Jochen Neerpasch, sold for €792,500.
