What makes the mind of Kim Jones, collaborator-in-chief at Fendi, tick? The artistic director of womenswear and couture at the brand speaks to AKANKSHA KAMATH about multitasking for the modern age
MUCH LIKE KARL Lagerfeld, the original multitasker at the house of Fendi, Kim Jones is many things. He is a chameleonic creative, an outsider anointed as insider, and a multi-hyphenate working across two legacy fashion giants ( Jones is artistic director for Dior menswear and artistic director at Fendi womenswear and couture). But strip back all the indelible zeitgeist-y design and what you have is a friends-and-family approach to fashion. Simply put, if it were up to Jones, the atelier would be one long lunch table of collectives who come together to create.
