A Conducive Space For Creative Minds
June - July 2020
|Architecture + Design
Project: Vijayshri Packaging Ltd, Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Interior Designer: Intercraft Interior Designer, Indore, Madhya Pradesh

A fully integrated packaging company, the multi-functional workspace of Vijayshri Packaging Ltd was established with the idea of supporting young creatives from the fields of design, architecture, interior design, visual communications, and other related fields. Professionals from these spheres have a chance to use the spatial and technical resources for their work, as well as take part in numerous projects and programs that are being developed in partnership with some of the leading local and international companies, schools, institutions, and experts.
The office platform and business platform in this space are connected by vertical transports. Overhead channels, terraces, courtyards, balconies, and galleries are interspersed among them, forming various spatial structures. Workers can stroll in the office when they are downstairs, and go back upstairs to work very conveniently. A new compressed sheet floor runs throughout the entire workspace, providing a seamless surface that ties the parts together into an integrated whole. The custom-made ply joinery similarly runs throughout the project and brings a certain warmth to space. The interior makeover balances between intact, rough treatment of the pillars and walls, and custom elements specially designed for space—all serving the functionality of the concept. The visual presence of the project is enhanced by graphic design.

A WORKSPACE WITH A REINVENTED MEMORY
While the office layout follows the footprint of the site’s original structure, the ground level in the middle courtyard has been raised to create an unexpected effect: where the new refurbished buildings now sit partly sunken into the earth.
