Microdiversity! Though it may seem a strange word, it conveys everything that makes the
Madeira Islands a unique destination even to the extent of being voted Europe’s Leading
Island Destination at the World Travel Awards.
These awards are hailed by many as the Oscars of the Tourism Industry. The truth is, they
are extremely important. With this in mind, this edition includes articles portraying the
distinctiveness of Madeira as a tourist destination.
The World Travel Awards also distinguished The Vine Hotel as European Leading
