In the November issue of Stamp Magazine, we reassess an iconic British stamp issue, the 1966 Battle of Hastings set, which was unprecedented in its concept, design and printing and remains spectacular today. We also examine the rise of Irish republicanism through 150 years of unusual cinderellas, propaganda labels, stamps and postal history. We turn the spotlight on the graphic design of the second half of the 20th century, nominating 10 of the most stunning stamps of the period, and also cast our eyes further back to the beautiful 1898 pictorial issue of New Zealand.
