I’ve never been averse to a New Year’s resolution or two (usually gym- or crisp-related) but I’ve realized that instead of giving something up, I far rather take something up. More hiking, for example, or a better work/life balance. More travel, naturally.

There’s been a mindset shift in the wellness industry too, moving away from January’s ‘New Year, New You’ adage towards something more positive, with retreats homing in on helping you reach your own optimal health, rather than the broader societal definition of what health and wellness should look like. It’s been a game-changer, and so this issue is filled with restorative escapes for everyone: from fitness, meditation and digital detox to silence, spiritual and culinary – all allowing you to enjoy your journey to good health, whatever that might look like to you.
