In last months edition, we started talking about the 2 X National Drift Champion, Jason Webb’s new Ford Mustang Convertible that will be competing in the Super Drift Series here in South Africa. On the 24th May, people came together from all around SA for the launch of the Roush 5.0 Mustang aka “The Monstang”. This was held at the Ford Performance Centre, based in Centurion.

Street Surfer

Clone Runner

In 1965, Muscle Car production was in full swing and manufacturers were putting mid-size models on the market with big V8’s. The Plymouth Satellite was first introduced in 1965 and was available in a two door hard top and also a convertible. The Satellite was the top of the line model and stayed there until 1967 when Plymouth introduced the GTX as its new top model. However, this was short lived because in 1968 Plymouth introduced the Road Runner.

Ethanol Hot Rod

With a 500-horsepower engine, a channeled body and a chopped top, GM’s custom street rod looks right at home on the salt flats of Bonneville. But instead of a traditional gasoline V-8, this ’34 Chevy replica rod sports a turbocharged 2.0L Ecotec engine that runs on E85 ethanol. Appropriately, it has been dubbed the FlexFuel Chevy Hot Rod.
