Castine voters will have a chance to weigh in on the 2021-22 municipal and school budgets in the upcoming referendum scheduled for May 8. On April 29, the Castine Historical Society is hosting the first of a series of Zoom talks, where speaker Anne Gass, whose talk, “Voting Down the Rose: Maine’s Fight for Woman Suffrage,” will describe how Maine women fought to gain the right to vote. Also inside, Dr. Elizabeth True, vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at MMA, is awarded prestegious honors for her oversight of MMA’s COVID testing process.
