An American author Anne Lamott has taken my thoughts and placed them into a precise expression of words in her book ‘Plan B’. She wrote, “I am going to try to pay attention to the spring, and look up at the hectic trees. Amid the smashing and crashing and terrible silences, the trees are in blossom, and it’s soft and warm and bright. I am going to close my eyes and listen.” It begs the question of whether or not the soft colors and bright patterns that make their appearances during this time of year are simply Spring’s expected uniform, or a guise that is conclusively felt within. As it may be, our cover girl Daniella Alonso commands an answer with her radiant smile painted in a soft berry pink hue, and her revealing expressions of an inner strength that has procured her roles depicting strong women. Throughout this issue, Daniella is in good company with others like Witney Carson, Veronica Dunne, and Jessica Marie Garcia - all women who carry a specific message of self-worth, positive body image, and a confidence that makes them the role models they are today. However, these respected women are not the only ones who know a thing or two about strength and overcoming with persistence. Jonathan Sadowski puts no price or time on feeding his dreams as an actor who gives ‘Young and Hungry’ a whole new meaning for us all. I hope that between the light of our digital screens and nature’s brightness of the Spring season, we will find inspiration within these pages to be a warm voice in our day. Maybe if we listen closely, we just might hear the hectic trees are in blossom.
