In this issue
It's wonderful to recall treasured memories of summertime. This issue is packed with stories of fun times at fairs, family vacations and life around family businesses. Revisit the sights, smells and tastes of favorite summer events.
Remembering the Midway: Readers share memories of taking exciting trips to the world’s fair, seeing a traveling carnival or just having fun in a local festival.
Packed Up and Ready to Go: Road trips were often central to family vacations of the past. Our
contributors reminisce about seeing the marvels of the country and arguing about who gets the
window seat.
Busy Hands and Hard Work: In previous decades, many families either lived above or next to their family business. Stories detail how these businesses helped small communities thrive and how kids helped out back in the day.
