There is a word we keep circling back to in this issue, one that resists easy definition the more closely you examine it: sensual. Not in the narrow sense it is so often reduced to, but in its fullest meaning—of the senses, through the body, alive to texture and warmth and the specific weight of things. It is, we decided, exactly the right word for right now.
It begins with our cover. “Orm” Kornnaphat Sethratanapong—actress, cultural phenomenon—sat with us and said something that stopped the room: “From the very first day until today, I still feel like I’m the same person.” In an industry built on transformation and spectacle, that quiet constancy is its own kind of sensuality: a presence that draws you in precisely because it refuses to perform. Together with her Dangerous Romance co-star Sirilak “Lingling” Kwong, she has turned the Thai Wave into something more like a tide.

Closer to home, we also speak to the women in Singapore who collect watches the way other people collect memories—because, as collector Christina Lim told us, “a watch is meaningful not because of where it comes from, but because of what it was, is, and becomes, in relation to my life.”
