Perpetual Motion That is the translation of the Latin “Perpetuum Mobile”, the title of the July exhibition at the “S.P.A.S.” Gallery. It has long been known that the laws of physics deny its possibility, but there are always cranks who attempt to prove the opposite. The seductive value of the mechanism lies in the subjugation of motive energy, the basis of all existence. Life is characterized by motion, it is completely permeated by it, even if it is an invisible train of thought. The themes of the paintings in the exhibition are devoted to life as motion. The characters in each of them are engaged in something that is important to them: they admire flowers, bask in the sun’s rays, dance, make music, look in the mirror — and all these actions add up to the symphony of life.
