The current season in the Philharmonic Great Hall will be rounded off by six splendid concerts featuring stars of international stature. The Academic Symphony Orchestra’s season draws to a close on 2 July, when Alexander Dmitriev will conduct a monographic programme of works by Sergey Rachmaninov — the soloist will be the Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son. On 3 July the magnificent cellist Natalia Gutman will appear with the Philharmonia’s premier symphony orchestra. Conductor — Nikolai Alexeev. On 7 July Boris Berezovsky, one of today’s leading pianists, will perform works by Liszt and Rachmaninov. 8 July will see the final concert in the 94th Philharmonia season: maestro Yury Temirkanov and his orchestra will perform music by Ravel and Bruckner — the soloist will be the famous French pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet
