In this issue

This issue follows hot on the heels of the 2024 Paris Olympics, with many new faces basking under the limelight for both the right and wrong reasons.
Chan Phei Yong, our cover personality, is no stranger to the limelight though. And he’s always been known for all the right reasons. His story is one of inspiration, especially when you take into account the prep he puts into his work for the radio, YouTube, and the red carpet.
We also revisit the revelry of the A-List events hosted in collaboration with great brands such as Vacheron Constantin and Cycle & Carriage. This month would also mark our inaugural Master Your Mind programme, where we united a group of specialists of the mind to impart their knowledge to our A-Listers.
Among all this fun lies the end of my tenure at Augustman Malaysia, which is why I’m tasked with hijacking the editor’s note column this month.
Before I joined the publication, my editor KC Yap had promised me ‘an experience’ in lieu of the media industry’s skimpy remunerations. Little did he know that I’d have joined regardless, because it just felt right.
And I’m glad I did, because KC certainly delivered on the experiences front. I’m leaving Augustman a better person thanks to those experiences, and it wouldn’t have been possible without KC believing in me more than I do myself.

I’ve also met great colleagues along the way — namely Alison, Joyce, and Shin Yeek of the Augustman Malaysia team — who’ve made the years feel like days. They brought the spark to burn the midnight oil and the warmth when it came time to celebrate.
But like the Olympics or our A-List events, everything comes and goes, and nothing ever lasts. It’s a reminder that all good things must come to an end, but also that the bad times won’t last forever.
With that string of cliches comes my cue to bid you adieu. So goodbye and enjoy this issue!
