Magazine Description

In this issue

After 12 difficult months for gaming in Macau, May 27 2015 signalled a new beginning with the opening of two new properties in Cotai – Galaxy Phase II and its sister property Galaxy Macau. The first of eight casinos due to open by the end of 2017, it is hoped that Galaxy II and Broadway will spark a resurgence while fulfilling the Macau government’s wish to provide far greater diversity in the shape of non-gaming attractions. In this issue of WGM we take a close look at these two properties including their exciting new hotel, F&B and retail offerings and how they fit into the current Macau landscape. We also sit down with President and CEO of the American Gaming Association, Mr Geoff Freeman, to talk all things gaming in the United States and further abroad including legislation currently impacting the American gaming scene and the lessons Macau can learn from the contrasting fortunes of Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Sports fans are in for a treat as we take an in-depth look at the impressive resurgence of Italian football – led by Champions League finalists Juventus. We also delve into the future of golf with a riveting feature on young guns Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth. Our resident poker guru sits down for a chat with 2006 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star champion and Vietnamese icon Nam Le at APT Vietnam to discuss his highly successful career. And The Panda enjoys an amazing feed at Macau’s Michelin star Jade Dragon restaurant at City of Dreams.
