We’re back to smashing records again! The April 2024 issue of evo India is headlined by our epic record-setting adventure in Volkswagen’s Virtus and Taigun. We’ve smashed the national record for the most distance covered in 24 hours in the Virtus GT and set over 300 other records in the process. This truly showcased the strengths of Indian manufacturing and German engineering, with the 1.5-litre TSI-quipped Virtus smashing a record set by an SUV with a larger 2-litre engine. Driving for 24 hours non-stop with breaks only to fuel up and 
swap drivers is incredibly strenuous on both man and machine. This is a tale of perseverance, grit and pushing through adversity to come out on top.

Headlining the March 2024 issue of evo India is the latest and which now boasts a massive 656bhp and a 0-100kmph time of 3.5sec. We then introduce to you the Aston Martin Vantage GT3, the battle-ready version of the new Vantage ready to take on rivals at various GT championships around the year. We have also got reviews of several facelifts that have come out this month. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 is the first, followed by the Land Rover Discovery Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Nissan Z Nismo. The SF90 XX Stradale is the first street-legal XX car to come out of the Ferrari stables, which until now meant ultra-exclusive track-only models. Updates over the standard SF90 Stradale (which was already ridiculously fast with its 1000bhp V8 hybrid powertrain) include more power, stiffer suspension, better aero, lightweighting and more. To test just how wild the XX is, Ferrari invited us to their Fiorano test track. Also at Fiorano, we drove the legendary Ferrari 308 GTB and a 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a perfect contrast to the XX on the previous pages.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny or Mahindra Thar? That’s the big question we are asking in the August issue of evo India by taking the 4x4s on road, off-road and even to the drag strip. The latest issue puts the Maruti Suzuki Jimny in the spotlight. While the Jimny was launched internationally in 2018 and even production in India started in 2021 for exports, the domestic market didn’t get it. In what is possibly evo India’s biggest and most incredible story yet, we get aboard the INS Vikrant, India’s first indigenous air craft carrier. We also got an opportunity to drive down the flight deck with the Mahindra XUV700, XUV300 and Scorpio-N. INS Vikrant is a magnificent testament to make-in-India and to kick off the 7000km Sam No Varuna coastal drive, we have taken three made-in-India SUVs on board the flight deck. This is a story of epic proportions, where we got up and personal with a mega feat of Indian engineering, and the brave men and women that serve on board the carrier. It isn’t often that we don’t have cars on the cover of the magazine, but this is something extra special. 
In this issue, we have also undertaken the epic K2K record run in the Tata Nexon EV where we drove 4000km from Srinagar to Kanyakumari in less than four days. We have reviews of the new Hyundai Verna, Toyota Hilux, Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica, Tata Harrier Red Dark and BMW M4 manual. We get a first look at the new Lamborghini Revuelto, while taking a look back the Volkswagen XL1 and Peugeot’s Le Mans icons. The  Porsche Cayman GT4 RS is a melting pot of some epic ingredients. The sublime mid-engined chassis of the 718-gen Cayman, the unhinged motorsport-derived 4.0 flat-six engine from the 911 GT3, lightweighting and aerodynamics from the hallowed GT department. Together they deliver a driving experience that is near incomparable to anything else out there. Launched in India late last year, we have driven a highly specced example on Indian roads in an attempt to find out if it is the greatest Porsche, nay the greatest sportscar, off all time. With incredible numbers, but more importantly, incredible sensations delivered to the driver, this car truly delivers on the Thrill of Driving.

It’s that time of the year again, where we bring together the finest enthusiast cars that we have driven over the last year, and hit the road for the ultimate test — evo Car of the Year. We’re ending 2022 seeing red — the stunning Ferrari Daytona SP3 headlines the December issue of the magazine. If there’s any brand that has a rich legacy to leverage, it is Ferrari. Born to race, its road cars have always been an extension of the race programme and never the other way around — an attempt to fund the racing activities. The SP3 draws its legacy from Ferrari’s most tumultuous time in endurance racing, the 1960s. Having dominated the early bit of the decade, Ferrari faced the challenge from Ford and we know how that ended. The super exclusive SP3 tries to encapsulate the ethos of those race cars — the P3, the P4 — in a cutting edge, modern package. We have a go at it on road and track. 
Picking up from there, we also look in to Ferrari’s highs and lows in racing through the ’60s and also drive the 296 GTB to Le Mans and understand more about its endurance racing aspirations. We’ve reviewed a slew of new SUVs this month — the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLB and EQB, BMW X7 facelift, BYD Atto 3 and Jeep Grand Cherokee, not to mention the much awaited Toyota Innova HyCrosss. The November issue of evo India has the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S fully sideways — not an uncommon sight on the cover of this magazine but this is different. With editor Sirish Chandran behind the wheel and running on Vredestein tyres, this little AWD monster put its drift mode to good use, sliding constantly for a whole 10 minutes and 23 seconds to set this new national record. Lamborghini’s screaming V10 will soon be retired, and we’ve got the Huracan Tecnica — the last production Huracan on the cover. The Tecnica is the last in the line of an incredibly accomplished family of mid-engined supercars, whose origins can be traced all the way back to the very first Gallardo. The Tecnica sits between the Evo and the STO, with the STO’s mental, dialled-up-to-11 engine with a chassis that makes it far more useable on the road. It remains an accomplished track car as we find out at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Spain. Porsche’s hallowed motorsport department goes one step further with the Cayman — stripping out the GT4 and injecting even more performance to give us the GT4 RS. They’ve gone absolutely wild with it — stuffing the 911 GT3’s 4-litre flat-six engine behind the driver, and honing the chassis and aero to extract the most out of the car. However, being Porsche, special attention has been paid to the sensations that the car delivers and unsurprisingly, those sensations are out of this world. For the cover story of the May 2022 issue, we take the GT4 RS and let it loose on both the road and track to revel in one of the best cars to have ever made it out of Weissach. 
There’s plenty more in this issue! The last month has seen plenty of launches, and we’ve gotten behind the wheel of all of them including the Jeep Meridian, Honda City e:HEV hybrid, Volkswagen Virtus GT, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Maruti Suzuki XL6. Our penchant for epic road trips hasn't abated — we took 30 AMGs through Rajasthan on the AMG Emotion Tour, drove to Coorg in a bunch of Tata Safaris and took the Nissan Magnite on an adventure exploring Big, Bold and Beautiful locations in western India. We bid farewell to the Volkswagen Polo with one last blast around the MMRT, put the Mini Cooper SE agains the JCW to test its legitimacy, drive the final prototype of the Lotus Emira and a lot more!

India-exclusive test drive of the Ferrari 296 GTB headlines the April 2022 issue. This is a landmark sports car for Ferrari — the first ever prancing horse road car with a V6 engine, the most powerful rear-wheel-drive sports car in the world, and with the hybrid boost it also has the highest specific output of any powertrain in the world. The 296 still makes an eye-watering 819bhp and 740Nm, all while being able to drive at speeds of up to 135kmph in electric-only mode. And the wheelbase has been shortened with the goal to make it the most fun to drive in its segment. A blast through the brilliant Spanish countryside and a very sideways track session with an Assetto Fiorano-spec 296 reveals an absolutely astonishing sports car that redefines Fun to Drive.
Also on the cover is our record-setting 24 hour challenge of getting from Sand to Snow in the Mahindra Thar — a proper real-world endurance test of both man and machine. 
We stopped the press to make sure we included a detailed walk around the Tata Curvv EV Concept, an SUV-Coupe that is set to go into production in two years with both an electric and ICE powertrain. 
We’ve done plenty of fun stuff starting with racing an EV, the RS e-tron GT, against ICE cars at the BIC. This month’s big road trip is with the Tata Safari where we revive our Reclaim Your Life series. First drives include the Lexus NX 350h, Tata Altroz DCA, MG ZS EV, new BMW X4 and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. On two wheels, we have gotten you a real-world road review of the Triumph Street Triple, ridden the RE Scram 411 both on road and off-road, reviewed the Suzuki Avenis.

The March 2022 issue is headlined by the Porsche 911 Turbo S which has been pit against its AWD cars like the BMW M4 Competition xDrive, the Toyota GR Yaris and the Audi RS3 to see if this drivetrain format can still deliver thrills. Also on the cover is the Mahindra Thar against its only worthy rival, the Force Gurkha. The Thar has been heavily updated and now the Gurkha gets a generational upgrade to take it on fair and square.

Audi Q7: It gets a fresh face and an updated interior architecture but more importantly, in line with the VW Group’s petrol-only strategy, it comes packing a V6 petrol engine.

With the launch of the e-tron GT, Audi has furthered its push towards electrification, bringing in sportscar-like performance in a package that looks incredibly desirable. Audi India is putting electrification front and centre of its gameplan, expecting up to 15 per cent of sales to come from electrified cars by 2025. The e-tron GT plays to Audi’s strengths – offering a tech-laden experience, incredible performance, fantastic cornering and most of all better value than the equivalent combustion engined cars.
