‘ഉദ്യാനപാലകൻ' എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ഞാൻ അസോഷ്യേറ്റായിരുന്നു. ഷൂട്ടിങ്ങിനിടയിൽ ഒരു ഒഴിവു സമയത്ത് മമ്മൂക്ക എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “നീയും ശ്രീനിയുമായിട്ട് എന്തോ പരിപാടി ഉണ്ടെന്നു കേട്ടല്ലോ? എന്തായി?' \"കഥ ആകുന്നേയുള്ളൂ.' \"ആരാ നായകൻ? \"നായകനെയൊന്നും തീരുമാനിച്ചില്ല. കഥ കിട്ടിയതിനുശേഷം നായകന്റെ മുഖഛായയുള്ള ആളെ സമീപിക്കാം എന്നാണു വിചാരിക്കുന്നത്. \"എനിക്കു നിന്റെ നായകന്റെ ഛായയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അഭിനയിക്കാം. “വേണ്ട' എന്നായിരുന്നു എന്റെ ആദ്യ മറുപടി. ഞാൻ പേടിച്ചുപോയി. ദിലീപോ ജയറാമോ ആയിരുന്നു എന്റെ മനസ്സിൽ. രണ്ടുപേരും അറിയുന്നവരായതുകൊണ്ട് ജോലി കുറച്ചുകൂടി എളുപ്പമാകുമല്ലോ എന്നാണു ഞാൻ കരുതിയത്.
