India has progressed immensely from being food deficient to a food exporting country. Technology has been playing an important role for the same and strongly associated with the production and processing of number of products in the food and beverage sector. Inspite of these efforts still India was ranked at 102 out of 117 qualifying countries in the latest Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2019 report with a score of 30.3. It shows that India suffers from a level of hunger that is serious.
