Climbing the Ladder to Success

It wasn’t an actress but rather, a film that inspired her to become an actor. TAMANNAAH BHATIA proudly claims that after watching Dil Toh Pagal Hai, she wanted to become an actress, and that she can watch the same any number of times. She believes in looking at life in an absolutely positive manner. Success and failure is a part and parcel of life, and what has to happen will happen, is what she swears by. All you have to do is wait for the right time or rather wait for ‘your’ time. Tick, tock, keep an eye on the clock, for her time is coming soon.

D for Divya E for Energy

DIVYA DUTTA is a bundle of energy. I was very impressed by her nuanced portrayal of an over-the-top character in her last release Irada. In her films, fast hitting a ton (100), I’ve appreciated the character she lent to many of the roles she played. Moreover, I had just read her book Me & Ma, a celebration of the life she led with, and the lessons she imbibed from her mother, whose recent passing she is still mourning. Her sharp eyes turn limpid at any mention. Complimenting Divya on both, the film and the book, earned me a warm invitation to a stupendous home-cooked Punjabi meal at her homely abode. Over the next few hours, we bonded over many common interests, tastes and thoughts. I warmed up to the straight-as-an-arrow and delightfully blunt Divya as I listened to her take on myriad people and situations. We both committed to repeating the entire afternoon session, but that, my friends, will not be for publication.

Interview with Kajal Agarwal

Limited time is all we had, but the conversation kept going. She welcomed me with grace as I stepped into to her beautiful abode. Who would’ve thought that this uber-cool lady that grew up in South Bombay was so warm and genuine! We talked about countless things… music, films and much more. Her take on the subjects we discussed had moved me in some ways. For the rest, read on… as I discover the wild side of KAJAL AGARWAL.

Better Late Than Never

Persistent, focussed and ambitious are three words that describe the 24-year-old AKSHARA HAASAN. Nothing can stop her committment to her work, not even ill-health. She looked pale and exhausted for this chat, yet, beautiful. She’s inherited her down-to-earth nature from her dad actor Kamal Haasan. One glance from this charming grey-eyed diva is enough to mesmerize you. The innocent artist has also tasted the bitter pills of being bodyshamed on social media, but we salute her blatant, unapologetic attitude towards these prejudices. She has tucked into her hat, the skill sets of a director, photographer, dancer, actor, and now, filmmaker too. Yes, this multi- talented actress took a long hiatus post her debut film Shamitabh, only to get a better opportunity in her upcoming film Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laddoo Deewana.

Stray Musings

He’s one of the busiest stars today. But there’s no frenzy around AJAY DEVGN being that. He’s working in faraway Rajasthan on Milan Luthria’s Baadshaho even as Golmaal Again (the 4th in the franchise ) went on floors in Mumbai with a tagda bunch of the cast and director Rohit Shetty. Suguna Sundaram runs some random thoughts by him and Ajay Devgn languidly answers.
