Cognitive justice recognises the right of different forms of knowledge to co-exist, but adds that this plurality needs to go beyond tolerance or liberalism to an active recognition of the need for diversity. It demands recognition of knowledges, not only as methods but as ways of life. This presupposes that knowledge is embedded in ecology of knowledges where each knowledge has its place, its claim to a cosmology, its sense as a form of life. In this sense knowledge is not something to be abstracted from a culture as a life form; it is connected to livelihood, a life cycle, a lifestyle; it determines life chances.

ഇന്ത്യ വീണ്ടുമൊരു തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് ചൂടിലേക്ക് കടക്കുമ്പോൾ രാഷ്ട്രീയ ചർച്ചകൾക്കൊപ്പം രാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ ഘടനാപരവും അസ്തിത്വപരവും സാംസ്കാരികമായ സവിശേഷതകളിൽ ഊന്നിനിന്നുള്ള സംവാദങ്ങൾകൂടി ആവശ്യമാണ്. 24 രാജ്യങ്ങളിലായി പ്യൂ റിസർച്ച് സെൻ്റർ നടത്തിയ ആഗോള മനോഭാവ സർവേ റിപ്പോർട്ടനുസരിച്ച്  പ്രാതിനിധ്യജനാധിപത്യം മികച്ചൊരു ഭരണസംവിധാനമാണെന്ന് പലരും വിശ്വസിക്കുമ്പോഴും ഇന്ത്യ ഉൾപ്പെടെ മിക്ക രാജ്യങ്ങളിലും ജനാധിപത്യവിരുദ്ധ ഭരണസംവിധാനങ്ങളെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവരുടെ എണ്ണം വർധിക്കുകയാണ്.  സവിശേഷമായ ജനാധിപത്യ ഭരണസംവിധാനം ഉള്ള ഒരു ജനത എന്ന് പുറമേ അറിയപ്പെടുമ്പോഴും അകമേ എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് നാം സ്വേച്ഛാധിപത്യത്തെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുകയും അനുകൂലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത് ? നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹമനസ്സിൽ അടിഞ്ഞുകൂടിയ ജാതിചിന്തയും രാജഭരണ, കൊളോണിയൽ അടിമത്താനുഭവങ്ങളും ശരിയായ ജനാധിപത്യബോധം രാജ്യത്ത് വളരുവാൻ ഇപ്പോഴും തടസ്സം ആകുന്നുണ്ടോ? ഈ ലക്കം എഴുത്ത് മാസിക  ഇത്തരം ചില ചോദ്യങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് വായനക്കാരുടെ ചിന്തകളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നത്.

കാലമല്ല മനുഷ്യർ തന്നെയാണ് സംസ്കാരത്തെ തകർക്കുന്നതും പുതുക്കിപ്പണിയുന്നതും. മനുഷ്യരിൽ സംഭവിക്കുന്ന പരിണാമംപോലെ സാംസ്കാരികമാറ്റങ്ങളും നാം ഗൗരവമായി ചർച്ച ചെയ്യേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. പങ്കുവയ്പുകളുടെയും കൂടിക്കലരുകളുടെയും ഒരു ചരിത്രത്തെ തമസ്കരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് കൃത്രിമമായ ഏകശിലാത്മക സംസ്കാരമാണ്  ഇന്ത്യയുടേത് എന്ന ധാരണ അടിച്ചേല്പിക്കാനും കെട്ടിപ്പടുക്കാനുമുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങളെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. ഇന്ത്യ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യംനേടി ഇത്രയും വർഷങ്ങൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും സ്ത്രീകൾക്ക് ജനാധിപത്യ വ്യവസ്ഥയിൽ തുല്യ പ്രാതിനിധ്യമില്ലയെന്നത് നീതി നിഷേധമാണ്. ഭരണഘടന വിഭാവനംചെയ്യുന്ന തുല്യത ലഭിക്കാൻ അവർ സമരം ചെയ്യേണ്ട അവസ്ഥ. പെൺമെമ്മോറിയൽ വെറുമൊരു ചടങ്ങായി തീരാതിരിക്കണമെങ്കിൽ തുടർപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ അനിവാര്യമാണ്. ഭൂമിയിലെ എല്ലാവരുടെയും ചോരയ്ക്ക് ഞാനാണ് കാവൽക്കാരൻ എന്ന ബോധമാണ് ഉദാത്തമായ മനുഷ്യസംസ്കാരമെന്ന അടിത്തറ ഉറപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ഈ ലക്കം എഴുത്ത് മാസിക.

ആദർശാത്മകചിന്തകൾക്കും സാമൂഹിക ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം നിറവേറ്റുന്ന വ്യക്തികൾക്കുമാണ് അടുത്തകാലംവരെ സമൂഹജീവിതത്തിൽ മുൻഗണന നല്കിയിരുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ അധികാരത്തിലേക്കും പ്രശസ്തിയിലേക്കുമുള്ള എളുപ്പവഴിയായി വ്യക്തിപൂജയും ബിംബവത്കരണവും കടന്നുവന്നതോടെ, അതിനു വലിയ സ്വീകാര്യത ലഭിച്ചതോടെ, വല്ലാത്തൊരു മൂല്യച്യുതിയിൽപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ് നാം. എം.ടി.വാസുദേവൻ നായർ അമിതാധികാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും നേതൃത്വപൂജയെക്കുറിച്ചും ഉയർത്തിയ വിമർശനം കേരളത്തിനു മാത്രമല്ല അപായ സൂചന നല്കിയത്. ബിംബവത്കരണംവഴി സമൂഹമനസ്സിനെ തങ്ങളുടെ അജൻഡയുടെ കീഴിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാനുള്ള തീവ്രശ്രമങ്ങളാണ് ഒട്ടുമിക്ക പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളും വ്യക്തികളും നടത്തുന്നത്.

രാഷ്ട്രീയപ്പാർട്ടികളെ ചില വ്യക്തികളിലേക്ക് ചുരുക്കുമ്പോൾ പ്രസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ മൂല്യശോഷണത്തിന്റെ വേഗതയാണ് വർധിക്കുന്നത്. മോദി ഗ്യാരന്റി, ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ തുടങ്ങിയ വായ്ത്താരികൾ അവശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാകട്ടെ 'രാജാവിന്റെ' ബിംബവത്കരണവും 'പ്രജകളുടെ' അപകർഷബോധവുമാണ്.  സാഹിത്യ,സാംസ്കാരിക മേഖലകളിൽ സവർണബിംബങ്ങളുടെ ദൃശ്യത വർധിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങൾ ബോധപൂർവം നടക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മതമണ്ഡലത്തിലും സംഘടിതമായ ബിംബവത്കരണം അനുദിനം ശക്തമാകുന്നുണ്ട്. മതാചാര്യന്മാരുടെ ആദർശങ്ങളും കാഴ്ചപ്പാടുകളും കൈവിട്ട് കമ്പോളസംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ തണലിൽ ആചാര,അനുഷ്ഠാനങ്ങളുടെയും ആൾദൈവങ്ങളുടെയും പേരിലാണ് ഇതു സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്. വിമർശനശക്തിയായി നിലകൊള്ളേണ്ട മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ മൂലധനവളർച്ച ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി ഇത്തരം ബിംബവത്കരണത്തിന്റെ ഏജന്റ് ആയി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. സമൂഹമനസ്സാക്ഷിയെ ഉണർത്തേണ്ട സാംസ്കാരികനായകരിൽ ഭൂരിഭാഗവും വ്യക്തിതാത്പര്യങ്ങൾക്ക് മുൻതൂക്കം നല്കി മൗനം പാലിക്കുന്നു.

നമ്മെ അങ്ങേയറ്റം കീഴ്‌പ്പെടുത്തിത്തുടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്ന ബിംബവത്കരണപ്രക്രിയയെ വിമർശനാത്മകമായി സമീപിക്കേണ്ടത് ഈ കാലത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രപരമായ ഒരാവശ്യകതയായി മാറിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.  നമ്മെ പിടിമുറുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന ദുർഭൂതത്തെ തുറന്നുകാണിക്കുന്ന,  ഭാവിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ജാഗ്രതയുള്ള ചില ചിന്തകൾക്കാണ് ഈ ലക്കം എഴുത്ത് മാസിക മുൻഗണന നല്കുന്നത്.

ലോകത്തെയും ജീവിതത്തെയും പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെയും പുതിയ ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയോടെയും നോക്കിക്കാണാൻ നമ്മെ പ്രേരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഭാവനാത്മകചലനങ്ങളാണ് സങ്കീർണമാകുന്ന ജീവിതാവസ്ഥകളിൽപ്പെട്ടുഴലുന്നവർക്ക് പ്രകാശമേകുന്നത്.  സ്വാർഥത ഏല്പിക്കുന്ന പരിക്കുകളിൽനിന്ന്‍ എളുപ്പത്തിൽ മോചനം നേടാനാവില്ലെങ്കിലും ബദൽ ലോകവ്യവസ്ഥയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾക്കും പോരാട്ടങ്ങൾക്കും ശക്തി പകരേണ്ടതുണ്ട് . അതിനുള്ള  ശ്രമമാണ് ഈ ലക്കം എഴുത്ത് മാസിക.  തോറ്റ ജനത അല്ലെന്ന് വരുംതലമുറയോട് ഉറപ്പിച്ചുപറയാൻ കരുത്തു നല്കുന്ന ഇടപെടലിനെക്കുറിച്ചും നൈതികജാഗ്രതയെക്കുറിച്ചും പൊതുബോധം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുമാത്രമേ നമ്മെ വരിഞ്ഞുമുറുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഇടുങ്ങിയ ചട്ടക്കൂടുകളെ ഭേദിക്കാൻ കഴിയൂ.
ധനപ്രതിസന്ധിയുടെ കരിമേഘങ്ങൾ മൂടിയ കേരളം പുതുവർഷത്തിൽ ഏറ്റെടുക്കേണ്ടത്  സമാനതകളില്ലാത്ത വലിയൊരു ദൗത്യമാണ്.  ആഗോള കാലാവസ്ഥ വ്യതിയാനത്തെ നേരിടാൻ അറച്ചറച്ചുള്ള ചുവടുവയ്പുകളല്ല സത്യസന്ധമായ ഇടപെടലുകളാണ് വേണ്ടത്. സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യയിലല്ല പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ നിലനില്ക്കുന്നത് മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഉള്ളിലാണ് എന്ന തിരിച്ചറിവാണ് ഭാവിലോകത്തിന്റെ അടിപ്പടവ്.   ബന്ധങ്ങളുടെ സ്വരലയമാകുന്ന നവ ആത്മീയത കണ്ടെത്തുവാനുള്ള പരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.  ഏവർക്കും  പുതുവത്സരാശംസകൾ ...

ഭരണകൂടങ്ങൾ നൈതികമായ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഒളിച്ചോടി സാധാരണമനുഷ്യരെ കൊടുംദുരിതങ്ങളുടെ ഇരകളാക്കി പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തുകയാണ്. നമ്മുടെ ചെറിയ നിശ്ശബ്ദതപോലും വലിയ കുറ്റകൃത്യമായി തീരുന്നു .  ആയുധക്കച്ചവടക്കാർ യുദ്ധസമ്പദ്‌വ്യവസ്ഥയെ നിലനിർത്താൻ അദൃശ്യരായിനിന്നുകൊണ്ട് ലോകത്തെ  നിയന്ത്രിക്കുമ്പോൾ യുദ്ധസമാനമായ അന്തരീക്ഷം നമ്മുടെ നിരന്തരാനുഭവമായിത്തീരുന്നു. ഒരു രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ശക്തി ആയുധശക്തിയിലാണെന്ന് ജനങ്ങളെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചാണ് ഇന്ത്യ ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള പല രാജ്യങ്ങളും വൻതുക ചെലവഴിച്ച് നവീന ആയുധങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങിച്ചു കൂട്ടുന്നത്. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പരമാധികാരം എടുത്തുകാണിക്കുന്ന പരേഡിൽപ്പോലും ആയുധപ്രദർശനവും സൈനിക ശക്തിപ്രകടനവും കടന്നുവരുന്നതും ആയുധശക്തി എന്ന ചിന്തയിൽനിന്നാകാം. പടക്കോപ്പുകൾ ഒരു രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിനിധാനമായി മാറുന്നു, അഹിംസയെ മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ച ഗാന്ധിജിയുടെ ഇന്ത്യയിലും. ആയുധക്കച്ചവടക്കാരുടെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ലോകനിർമിതിയുടെ അപകടം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് ബദൽചിന്തകൾ  നിർമിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

സമാധാനം'ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഹൃദയഭാഷയായി ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് 2015 നവംബർ മാസത്തിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച എഴുത്ത് മാസിക ഒൻപതാം വർഷത്തേക്ക് കടക്കുമ്പോൾ എഴുത്തുകാരോടും വായനക്കാരോടും വലിയ നന്ദി. ലോകരാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ രാഷ്ട്രീയവും വംശീയവുമായ ഇടുങ്ങിയ  ചിന്തകൾക്കതീതമായി മനുഷ്യാവകാശങ്ങളെ അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിൻ്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കുകയാണ് അരുന്ധതി റോയ് എഴുത്ത് മാസികയ്ക്ക് നൽകിയ സംഭാഷണത്തിൽ. മലയാളികളുടെ യുദ്ധകാലചിന്തകൾ മനുഷ്യപക്ഷം മുറുകെപ്പിടിച്ചാകണമെന്ന് ഓർമിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ഷീലാ ടോമി.

നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്കുമുൻപ് മനുഷ്യർ കടൽ യാത്രകളിലൂടെ വാസയോഗ്യമായ ദേശങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തി. ഇന്ന് യാത്രയും അന്വേഷണവും ഭൂമിക്ക്  പുറത്തേക്കായിരിക്കുന്നു. സൗരയൂഥത്തിൽ പലയിടത്തും നമുക്ക് പ്രയോജനകരമായ ഇടങ്ങൾ മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പുണ്ടെന്ന ഭാവനാത്മക ചിന്തയാൽ അവ കണ്ടെത്തുവാൻ വളരെ ബോൾഡ് ആയിട്ടുള്ള ദൗത്യങ്ങൾക്കാണ് ശാസ്ത്രലോകവും ഭരണകൂടങ്ങളും ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്. ഇപ്പോൾ വിവിധ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ ബഹിരാകാശത്ത് ഇട്ട തറക്കല്ലുകൾ ഭാവിയിൽ വലിയൊരു സാമ്രാജ്യമായി വളരാം. നക്ഷത്ര രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള നിർണായകമായ അറിവുകൾക്കുപരി പ്രപഞ്ചോൽപത്തിയെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള നമ്മുടെ ധാരണകളുടെ പുതുക്കിപ്പണിയിലുമാണ് ഇവിടെ സംഭവിക്കുന്നത്. ബഹിരാകാശ ഗവേഷണത്തിൽ ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വിജയമേകിയ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം ഊർജ്ജമാക്കി, പ്രപഞ്ച രഹസ്യങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള അന്വേഷണത്തിന്റെ വ്യത്യസ്തമാനങ്ങൾ ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുകയാണ് എഴുത്ത് മാസിക ഒക്ടോബർ ലക്കം.

എങ്ങോട്ട് ?

അവഗണിക്കപ്പെട്ട മനുഷ്യരെ ചേർത്തുപിടിക്കുന്ന മഹത്തായ രാഷ്ട്രീയാവബോധം സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമര വഴികളിൽ നടന്നവർക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഭാവിയിൽ അതിനെ ജാഗ്രതയോടെയും വിവേകത്തോടെയും കാത്തുപരിപാലിക്കാനുള്ള ആലോചനകളാണ് ഗാന്ധിജി തുടങ്ങിവെച്ചത്. സ്വാർത്ഥലാഭത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ജനങ്ങളെ കൗശലം കൊണ്ട് അധികാരമോഹികൾ സ്വാധീനിക്കാനുള്ള സാധ്യത അദ്ദേഹം മുൻകൂട്ടി കണ്ടിരുന്നു. അധികാരം കേന്ദ്രീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന സംവിധാനത്തെ ഗാന്ധിജി വിമർശനാത്മകമായി കാണുകയും, പാർലമെൻ്ററി ജനാധിപത്യത്തെ തളർത്തുന്ന ദൗർബല്യങ്ങൾ ഇന്ത്യ അഭിമുഖീകരിക്കേണ്ടി വരുമെന്ന് ഭയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇന്നു നാം അതിനെ മുഖാമുഖം നേരിടുകയാണ്.

ആഗസ്റ്റ് ലക്കത്തെ സമ്പന്നമാക്കുന്ന 2 അഭിമുഖങ്ങളുണ്ട്. വയനാട്ടിൽ നിന്നും ഗോത്രജനതയുടെയും കുടിയേറ്റകർഷകരുടെയും കഥ പറഞ്ഞ് ആഗോളസാഹിത്യ വേദികളിൽ ഇടം നേടിയ ഷീലാ ടോമിയുടെ വാക്കുകൾ ഇത്രയുംകാലം മലയാളമാസികകളിൽ കാര്യമായി  ഇടം പിടിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. അധികം ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടാത്തവർക്കൊപ്പം നടക്കുന്നതിൽ എഴുത്ത് മാസിക സ്വന്തം തനിമ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.
ആർച്ച്ബിഷപ്പ്  ജോസഫ് പാംപ്ലാനിയുടെ വാക്കുകൾക്ക് രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രാധാന്യമേയുള്ളു എന്ന വിധത്തിൽ ചർച്ച ചെയ്യിക്കാനും കേരളീയ പൊതുബോധത്തെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിക്കാനുമുള്ള നരേറ്റീവുകൾ ധാരാളമുണ്ട്. എന്നാൽ, അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ പ്രസ്താവനകളിലെ  മറ്റു ചില അടരുകൾ പരിശോധിക്കുകയാണ് ഈ ലക്കം - കല്പിതകഥാവത്കരണവും മഹത്വവൽക്കരിക്കലും ഒരുപോലെ ശരിയല്ല എന്ന ബോധ്യത്തോടെ.
അടുത്ത തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള 'ഷോ' ആരംഭിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞു.  ഏക സിവിൽകോഡ് നമുക്ക് മുൻപിൽ പ്രദർശനം തുടങ്ങി. ക്രിയാത്മക ഇടപെടലിലൂടെയാണ് ഒരു രാജ്യം പൗരരെ അംഗീകരിക്കേണ്ടതെന്ന് ഉറക്കെ പറയേണ്ട കാലമാണിത്.

യുക്തിഭദ്രമായി കാര്യങ്ങൾ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുകയെന്നത് മനുഷ്യർക്ക് മാത്രം സാധ്യമാകുന്ന ഒന്നായിരിക്കണമെന്ന തോന്നലിന് ഇനി എത്രനാൾ പ്രസക്തിയുണ്ട് ? ചോദ്യം ചാറ്റ് ജി.ടി.പിയോട് അല്ല, മനുഷ്യരോടാണ്. അപാരമായ സാധ്യതകൾ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന നിർമിതബുദ്ധിയുടെ  കടന്നുവരവ് ഭാവിമനുഷ്യരെയും ലോകക്രമത്തെയും എങ്ങനെയായിരിക്കും നിർമിക്കുക എന്ന അന്വേഷണം കൗതുകം മാത്രമല്ല ഭയവും നല്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഉപഭോഗസംസ്കാരം നമ്മെ സ്വാധീനിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇനിയുള്ള ലോകം എ.ഐ സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റേതും കൂടിയാണ്. മൗലികത, ധാർമികചിന്ത, നീതിബോധം, മനുഷ്യത്വം,  തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് നമ്മെ മനുഷ്യരാകുന്നത്. ഇവയൊന്നുമില്ലാത്ത എ.ഐ സംസ്കാരം  ഭാവിമനുഷ്യർക്ക് അസ്തിത്വപ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുമോ എന്ന ഭയത്തെ ഗൗരവത്തിലെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയണം.  സ്വയാവബോധമുള്ള എ.ഐ എന്ന ആശയം ഭാവിയിൽ യാഥാർഥ്യമായാൽ അതുയർത്തുന്ന ദാർശനിക,ധാർമിക വിഷയങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ഇത്തരം ചിന്തകളെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്യുകയെന്നത് അനിവാര്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

അപരവത്കരണം ക്ലാസ്സ്‌മുറികൾ രാഷ്‌ട്രത്തെ നിർമിക്കണം, അതിനെ ദുർബലമാക്കരുത്. കുട്ടികൾ പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും വിദ്യാ ലയാന്തരീക്ഷത്തിൽനിന്നും ആർജിക്കുന്ന ജീവിതവീക്ഷണവും ലോകബോധവും ഒരു ജനതയുടെ ഭാവിരൂപീകരണത്തിൽ നിർവഹിക്കുന്ന ഉത്തരവാദിത്വം പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. സാധാരണക്കാരായ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിവിന്റെ ഉറവിടം സ്‌കൂൾ പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങളാണ്. അതിനാൽ സിലബസ്സിലും പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങളിലും എന്തു പറയുന്നു,എന്തു വെട്ടിച്ചുരുക്കുന്നു കൂട്ടിച്ചേർക്കുന്നു എന്നത് വിദ്യാ ഭ്യാസത്തിന് റെ മാത്രം കാര്യമല്ല രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ നിലനില്‌പിന്റെ പ്രശ്നമാണ്. രാജ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും ഭാവിതലമുറയെ ക്കുറിച്ചും ചിന്തിക്കുന്നവർ സങ്കുചിത രാഷ്‌ട്രീയ താത്പര്യങ്ങൾക്കപ്പുറം നിലപാട് സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.

സ്വതന്ത്ര ഇന്ത്യ നേരിട്ട ഏറ്റവും വലിയ വെല്ലുവിളി വിശപ്പ് ആയിരുന്നു. അതിനാൽ ഭക്ഷൃസുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കാനുള്ള നടപടികൾ യുദ്ധകാലാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ നടപ്പിലാക്കാൻ അന്നത്തെ ഭരണാധികാരികൾ നിർബന്ധിതരായി.  രാജ്യത്തെ ഊട്ടാനുള്ള ദൗത്യം കർഷകർ ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. സമീപകാലത്ത്, കോർപ്പറേറ്റ് താത്പര്യങ്ങൾ ഭരണകൂടത്തിൻ്റെ പിന്തുണയോടെ അവരുടെ കൃഷിയിടങ്ങളിലേക്കു കടന്നു കയറുന്നുണ്ട്. ഈ നവാധിനിവേശത്തെ ശോഭനമായ ഭാവിയൊരുക്കാനുള്ള മാർഗമായിട്ടാണ് ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്നത്. പൗരന്മാരുടെ ഭക്ഷണ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെ പലവിധത്തിൽ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്ന ഭരണകൂടം കർഷകസംരക്ഷകർ എന്ന പ്രതീതി സൃഷ്ടിക്കാൻ നടത്തുന്ന ശ്രമങ്ങളെ വിമർശനാത്മക അന്വേഷണത്തിന് വിധേയമാക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്.  ഇന്ത്യൻ സർക്കാരിൻ്റെ അഭ്യർത്ഥനപ്രകാരം ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്ര സഭ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ച അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ചെറുധാന്യ വർഷാചരണവും കൃത്യമായ വിശകലനം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.
ജീവൻ നിലനിർത്താനും കൃഷിയുടെ വികാസത്തിലും വലിയ സംഭാവനകൾ നല്കിയിട്ടും സ്ത്രീകളുടെ അധ്വാനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെ പോകുന്നുണ്ട്. രാജ്യത്ത് നടക്കുന്ന കൃഷിയുടെ കുത്തകവത്കരണവും പൗരുഷവത്കരണവും തുറന്നു കാണിക്കുന്ന വാക്കുകളാണ് വന്ദന ശിവയുടേത്.  ചെറുധാന്യങ്ങൾക്ക് നഗരവാസികൾക്കിടയിൽ വർദ്ധിക്കുന്ന സ്വീകാര്യത തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് ഇവയുടെ വിപണി കൈയടക്കുവാനുള്ള തന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ബഹുരാഷ്ട്ര കമ്പനികൾ നടത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. ചെറുധാന്യ വർഷാചരണത്തിൻ്റെ പിറകിലുള്ള സാമ്പത്തിക - വാണിജ്യ താത്പര്യങ്ങളെ കേസരി ഹരാവു സമീപിക്കുന്നത് ഈ ബോധ്യത്തോടെയാണ്. ഗോത്ര ജനതയും മില്ലെറ്റുകളും തമ്മിലുള്ള ജൈവികബന്ധത്തിൽ ആധുനിക കൃഷിരീതികൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ വിള്ളലുകൾ വലുതാണ്. കേരളീയരുടെ ഭക്ഷണശീലത്തിൽ സംഭവിക്കുന്ന മാറ്റങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു സാംസ്കാരിക വായനയും ഈ ലക്കത്തിലുണ്ട്.

വിഷപ്പുക ഉയരുമ്പോൾ (നഗരവാസികൾക്കുമേൽ വ്യാപിക്കുമ്പോൾ മാത്രം) മാധ്യമങ്ങളും രാഷ്ട്രീയപാർട്ടികളും പൊതുസമൂഹവും ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുകയും പിന്നീട് തമസ്കരിക്കേണ്ടതുമായ  ഒരു വിഷയമായിത്തീർന്നോ കേരളത്തിലെ മാലിന്യപ്രശ്നം.  ഉപഭോക്തൃസമൂഹമായി വളരുന്ന മലയാളികളുടെ പൗര - സാമൂഹിക ബോധത്തിൽ സംഭവിക്കുന്ന വ്യതിയാനം എടുത്തുകാട്ടുന്നതാണ് ബ്രഹ്മപുരത്തെ തീപിടിത്തം. എന്റെ മാലിന്യം മറ്റെവിടെയെങ്കിലും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചാൽ പ്രശ്നം തീർന്നുവെന്ന സമീപനത്തിനും മാലിന്യ നിർമാജനം തങ്ങളുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമല്ല എന്ന പൊതുബോധത്തിനും കിട്ടിയ തിരിച്ചടികൂടിയാണ് ബ്രഹ്മപുരം. ഭരണസംവിധാനങ്ങളുടെ കെടുകാര്യസ്ഥതയും അഴിമതിയും നിഷ്ക്രിയത്വവും ഒരിക്കൽകൂടി ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു വിഷപ്പുക. പൗരബോധമില്ലായ്മയും ജാതി മത രാഷ്ട്രീയ മാലിന്യങ്ങളിൽനിന്നുയരുന്ന  വിഷപ്പുകയും ജനജീവിതത്തെ എങ്ങനെ വേട്ടയാടുമെന്ന് കണ്ടറിയണം. അംബേദ്കർ വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപ് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നീറിപ്പുകയുന്ന ജാതി മാലിന്യത്തെപ്പറ്റി മുന്നറിയിപ്പ് നല്കിയിരുന്നു. അതിനെപറ്റി ഗൗരവമായി ചിന്തിച്ചുവേണം നമുക്ക് യാത്ര തുടരാൻ. ഈ നടപ്പിൽ വെറുപ്പിന്റെ മാലിന്യം വഴിമുടക്കരുത്. അത് പരിഷ്കൃത സമൂഹത്തിന് അപമാനമാണ്. വീട്ടകങ്ങളിലെ മാലിന്യം മാത്രമല്ല നാം മനസ്സിനുള്ളിൽ സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന മാലിന്യങ്ങളും തള്ളാനുള്ള കുപ്പത്തൊട്ടിയല്ല മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ ജീവിതം. അത് ഉറവിടത്തിൽതന്നെ സംസ്കരിക്കണം. അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ നാം കൊട്ടിഘോഷിക്കുന്ന 'മാലിന്യസംസ്കരണം' ഒരു പെരുനുണ മാത്രമാണ്.

കാരവൻ ന്യൂസ്റൂമിന്റെ പടിയിറങ്ങിയ വിനോദ് കെ. ജോസ് മാർച്ച് ലക്കം എഴുത്ത് മാസികയിലൂടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഭരണകൂടത്തോടും സമൂഹത്തോടും സത്യംപറയാൻ ഏതറ്റംവരെയും സാഹസികയാത്രചെയ്ത ചുരുക്കംചിലരിൽ ഒരാൾ. 25 വർഷം നീണ്ട തന്റെ നിർഭയ മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തനം തത്കാലം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഭീഷണികളും വെല്ലുവിളികളും വിനോദിനെയും അദ്ദേഹം തുടക്കമിട്ട 'ഫ്രീ പ്രസ്' മാഗസിനെയും കാരവനെയും പിന്തുടർന്നു. തന്റെ അപ്പാർട്ടുമെന്റിൽ ആസൂത്രിതമായി നടന്ന തീവയ്പ്പിൽ സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റുകൾ ചാരമായപ്പോഴും അടുത്തിടെ  രാജ്യദ്രോഹക്കുറ്റങ്ങൾ ചുമത്തിയപ്പോഴും അദ്ദേഹം തളർന്നില്ല. ഈ ധൈര്യത്തിന്റെ പിന്നിൽ വയനാട്ടിൽ വളർന്നു എന്നുള്ളത് എടുത്തുപറയുന്ന വിനോദ്, ന്യൂസ്റൂം ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾക്കപ്പുറത്ത് ഗൗരവമായ ചിന്തകളും ഇടപെടലുകളും നാം ജീവിക്കുന്ന കാലഘട്ടവും ഇന്ത്യയും ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുവെന്ന് ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പറയുന്നു.
മലയാളി ആൾക്കൂട്ടം അടിത്തട്ടുമനുഷ്യരോടും ഇരുണ്ടശരീരങ്ങളോടും കാണിക്കുന്ന വംശീയതയും രാജ്യത്തു നടക്കുന്ന ക്രൈസ്തവപീഡനവും ചെറിയൊരു വാർത്തയ്ക്കപ്പുറം നാം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെയാകുന്നുണ്ട്. ഭ്രാന്ത് നാടു നിറയുമ്പോൾ പൗരന്മാർ നിശ്ശബ്ദരാകരുത്. നിവർന്നു നില്ക്കണം, ഉറക്കെ സംസാരിക്കണം.

'സ്വന്തം നാവ് ' ഒരു ജനതയുടെ ജന്മാവകാശമാണെന്ന് ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസംഘടന പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചതും ഫെബ്രുവരി 21 മാതൃഭാഷാദിനമായി ആചരിക്കുന്നതു ഒരു തിരിച്ചറിവാണ്; ഒപ്പം വലിയ പ്രതീക്ഷയുമാണ്. 'ഉണ്മയുടെ പാർപ്പിടമാണ് ഭാഷ' എന്ന ഹൈഡഗറുടെ വാക്കുകൾ മനുഷ്യരായിരിക്കുക എന്നത് ഭാഷയിലായിരിക്കുക എന്നുകൂടി നമ്മെ ഓർമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ആധുനിക ലോകത്തിൻ്റെ ഉപകരണവാദ സമീപനം ഭാഷകളുടെ ജൈവിക സാമൂഹിക ഉള്ളടക്കത്തെ  നമുക്ക് ആവശ്യനിർവഹണത്തിന് ഉപയോഗിക്കാവുന്ന ഒരു ഉപകരണം എന്ന തരത്തിലേക്ക് ചുരുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

ഒരു സമൂഹത്തിൻ്റെ ഉയർച്ച താഴ്ചകൾ മറ്റെന്തിലുപരിയായി ആ ജനതയുടെ മാതൃഭാഷയിൽ പ്രതിനിധീകരിപ്പെടുകയും പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നതിനാൽ ഭാഷയുടെ പരിണാമ ഘട്ടങ്ങളും അവ നേരിടുന്ന വെല്ലുവിളികളും ഭാഷാപo നത്തിനപ്പുറം സാമൂഹിക, സാംസ്കാരിക, നൈതിക തലങ്ങളിലുള്ള അന്വേഷണം കൂടി ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. യാത്രകൾ അകലങ്ങളെയല്ല, തൻ്റെ തന്നെ അകക്കാമ്പുകളെയാണ് കാണിച്ചുതരുന്നത്. താങ്കൾ നടത്തിയ യാത്രകൾ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള ആത്മാന്വേഷണവും സത്യാന്വേഷണവുമായി മാറിയിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. ചില അനുഭവങ്ങൾ താങ്കളെ വിമലീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. ജീവിതത്തെ കുറിച്ച് അത്രമേൽ ആഴത്തിൽ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. അവ ഒരുവേള ആത്മീയാനുഭവം കൂടിയായി തീർന്നിട്ടുണ്ടാകാം. ഇങ്ങനെ യാത്ര നൽകുന്ന അറിവ് ഒരുതരം ബോധോദയം ആണ്.

Jesuits of Kerala has launched an Institute for promoting peace and international relations.  In the contemporary context of consumerism, materialism, violence, ethnic conflict and religious fundamentalism, the institute named Loyola Institute of Peace and International Relations (LIPI), hopes to achieve its goals through strategic plans for research facilities, publications, conferring academic degrees, establishing peace forums, seminars and conferences on peace and campaigns to popularize the theme of peace.
