In this issue

March 2016 issue focuses on Islam. Both creative works of writers and debates around Wahhabism. M. Mujeeb Rahman, H. Peer Mohammed, H.G. Rasool, Anar, Idalakudi Hassan, Sharmila Syyed have contributed. Editorial and translation of Gopal Gandhi's article respond to the sectarian attack on Central Universities and marginalised students. Kannan's article on Freedom of expression takes it beyond the present Hindutva context and questions the lack of clarity on freedom of expression across political and religious formations. Satchidanda Sukirtharaja writes on the Silk Route(s), M.V. Srinivasan on education in Tamil Nadu Schools. S.P. Udayakumar writes on Environmentalist disasters and their impact on women. Obituaries for Umberto Ego and Harper Lee, book reviews, columns, poems, reports and documents add depth and substance to this number.
