One of the accepted definitions of "vision" is the anticipation of something that will or may happen; a visionary is one who sees this potential, and acts towards fulfilling it. Sometimes it can be a great business idea; sometimes it's an unexpected move made; sometimes it is how the owner/ CEO/ manager of a business acts with foresight and imagination to change the way a business (or even industry) is run. Often, these are not huge bets (say, Steve Jobs with the iPod, or Ratan Tata with the Nano); they can be small, yet significant changes in corporate governance or succession planning.

Fortune India in its February issue carries forwards its agenda to identify those special people, companies or ideas which change the way we do business or even live our lives. This issue focuses on The Spin, where the move of the year story takes a look at what changed, and how. And also, if it is a sign of other things to come, such as the rise of Indian exceptionalism.
