In this issue
In the September-October 2016 issue, our cover story displayed the results of the first Solar Today Awards, wherein for the very first time, the Solar Today team stepped forward for an event that brought the solar power fraternity together while awarding promising companies that made their mark in the past year. There were detailed profiles of the winners from across the solar segment.
Besides the cover, the feature focused on data monitoring systems for solar power plants. Here, it was found that employing a performance monitoring system is a must for being able to account for the amount of energy produced by a system in real time, and to ensure the forecast conversion efficiency will remain intact over its service life.
The issue also covered the long and fruitful journey by IIT Bombay alumnus from the Energy Science Department, Sushil Reddy, who rode a solar powered electric bicycle for 7,513 km in 79 days, across nine states in north-western India to raise awareness about solar power in the country.
