Pawprint Magazine - August - October 2017

Pawprint Description:
Pawprint is a quarterly newsletter published by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Hong Kong and is distributed to approximately 30,000 readers who are concerned about animal welfare issues or are interested in learning about and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Pawprint offers interesting articles on a variety of topics which range from veterinary health issues and animal rescue work to animal welfare programmes and happy adoption stories. In doing so it highlights the Society’s efforts within the local community and in mainland China to minimise animal suffering.
Each issue features a unique cover story on a compelling and important animal issue, provides facts and tips on pet care, offers news of animal events and also now includes an educational children’s corner.
In this issue
This Pawprint describes the hard work behind the SPCA’s animal rescue cases and the medical challenges our vets often face. We take a close look at the harsh realities of ivory smuggling, the causes of canine lameness and healing broken bones. We also share the adoption story of Wong Choi, a long-staying dog in our kennels, and interviews with SPCA front-line staff.
