We gave our all, acting as if nothing was the matter. We set off at full tilt and prepared one of the most diverse issues of our 10-year history while diligently observing the restrictive measures. We gave our all to welcome 2021, a year when we expect a lot and have even more in store. Sitting and waiting is not enough; sitting and waiting does not turn the wheels; it does not move the Earth, the skies or the economy. That's what I’ve learnt and that's how I proceed. There’s nothing to expect when one is not prepared. Following all precautions and keeping distances and protocols, we worked hard to bring to the foreground and to the printing house an issue bound to become a milestone and a vivid memory of action taken despite the difficulties experienced. Life won’t stop. We won’t stop it. We are in a state of quarantine, but the mind can never be imprisoned and this is not a bout of romanticism but the fruit of long experience. Every day commendable and memorable actions take place. We have included several of them in this issue.

Skipper ONDECK is an International Luxury Yachting Magazine, for yachting in Greece and allover the world. It is the top Greek yachting magazine.

Hopefully, by the time you read these lines the war will be over and the victims will be mustering up the last shreds of inner strength to stand up on their own feet again. It happened out of the blue and nothing will be the same again for thousands of families. Throughout Ondeck's history, there has never been such a conflict or the threat of extensive transnational war.

This is the last issue of 2021 and the first of the new year. A year full of promises such as the promise to bring us back to normality and to help us regain everything we lost over the last two years or use what we’ve learned and are still learning from the pandemic.

The first Yachting Awards 2019, organised by ONDECK Media at Zappeion Megaron on December 12, proved to be a remarkable success. In the most iconic building of Modern Greece, the protagonists of Yachting made their presence felt. At this major and unique event, which was honoured by esteemed members of the country's political and business scene, the honorary awards were a special tribute to the companies and people that contribute to the development and evolution of Sea Tourism, Leisure Boating and the Greek economy.

What an exciting journey and what a unique experience. It was April 1, 2011, when amidst tumultuous times we set sail with the first issue of Skipper ONDECK. The goal was to give prominence and voice to the world of yachting and to promote nautical tourism at an international level.

The positive signals coming from the sea and the market are transmitted across the spectrum of business activity. 2018 will be a good year and I reckon it will become a point of reference; the year that marked the return to a certain normality. Isn’t that the most important prerequisite? To be able to transact and create? With this thought in mind, the Spring Issue brings to limelight people who do create. Besides, the market and the economy we are talking about are nothing more than their people.

The historic date for yachting lovers from all over the world was once again set for September. The crème de la crème of yachting and the luxury industry met again at the French Riviera

This year Greece seems to be the top destination in the Mediterranean. If you are thumbing through the pages of the Summer Issue, planning to visit the country, then you are on the right track. If you are already on a Greek island, then you have acted wisely. This year is Greece’s turn to generously share its beauties with all those who dream of visiting it. The Greek summer and the meandering around the magical and exquisite beauties of the Greek seas make up a unique experience that captures all the senses. Every year, Greece is a favourite on the summer holiday itinerary of people from all corners of our planet. The Greek islands are much like the Disneyland of sea tourism and their reputation travels everywhere. Experiencing a few moments in a scenic cove, walking on paved island alleys, tasting local delicacies, having the world spin leisurely with the help of some double-distilled ouzo at sunset, dining where the waves meet the shore has become the dream of many. It would be no exaggeration to admit that the mellowness of the Greek summer is addictive, even for us Greeks.

It’s time to award the Sea | We welcome spring with an important award. An award which goes to the Ondeck team and the industry’s professionals who chose Skipper ONDECK as their communication vehicle. After all, this is what ONDECK is all about: a multidimensional communication vehicle of international standards and calibre with strong bonds and friends at the heart of developments, the yards and the boat shows, as well as bonds with the yacht designers, the policy makers and the protagonists.

The Catamarans Cup Regatta by Istion Yachting,  held for the 7th time and broadcast by a variety of channels abroad, such as Icarus Sailing Media. 
Athens Boat Show brought together important companies and was an opportunity for a face-to-face talk with potential clients. 
Speaking of the sea, we could never fail to make a special reference to the event for the 100th anniversary of the Union of Greek Shipowners and to two prominent figures of the world of shipping who offered us some of their time, Irene St. Daifas and Spyros Capralos. 
Antonis Pittaras invites via the Greek Economic Forum the creative blood of Greece to come together with a view to recovery and redeployment.
