"Luker turns up a set of wheels for his 5 inch gauge Australian locomotive and machines the eccentrics. Bob Hayter builds a small steam turbine from a set of castings supplied by Luke Cringle. Adrian Garner adds the remontoire release mechanism and pendulum stop pins to his astronomical bracket clock. Mark Smithers continues the story of the relocation of Scarborough’s North Bay locomotive works to Darlington in order to expand their narrow-gauge activities. Peter Seymour-Howell completes the Cartazzi axle assembly for his 5 inch gauge finely detailed Flying Scotsman. Mike Joseph explains that his collection of tools is more than just a set of things whose function is merely to make other things. Luker offers a few short cuts in the business of adding details to model steam locomotives. John Arrowsmith reports from this year’s Sweet Pea Rally, held at the Hereford club’s Broomy Hill track. John Hill emphasises the importance of the grate dimensions to the draughting of model steam locomotives. Philipp Bannik carries out the final assembly and test of his radial boring machine. Tom Parham describes the second day of the International Model Locomotive Efficiency Competition held at the Maidstone society’s track at Mote Park."
