Can you believe it’s June already? We’re halfway through the year and summer is here at last. We’re definitely feeling the sunshine vibes in this issue. On page 36 we take a look at the latest trends for outdoor living, including exciting tropical brights, relaxed coastal looks and earthy tribal designs inspired by North Africa. In fact we’re loving the seaside look so much it’s been the inspiration for this month’s Trend Alert (p.18) and our craft projects too (p.60). If you’re planning to spend more time in the garden, then turn to page 66 to find our step-bystep guide for laying a new patio, perfect for outdoor entertaining. You might even be considering adding a new conservatory to your home so you can enjoy the views over your garden even when summer is fading. On page 106, we’ve got all you need to know about planning and buying a conservatory, as well as some great designs to inspire you. I know many of you enjoy getting out the BBQ when friends and family visit. But there are so many exciting new ways to cook alfresco, we’ve put together a buyer’s guide to the latest barbies, smokers, grills and pizza ovens on page 56. Plus we’ve got some delish picnic recipes on page 100 too! Talking of cooking, if you’re considering buying new kitchen appliances, you may be a bit baffled by the choice of A-ratings which are now available. So, on page 52, we look at what the labelling means and find some models to save you both energy and money!
