In this issue

Welcome to the November issue of The GameOn
Magazine! The end of the year is fast approaching, and
we’re putting in some big plans for the year ahead,
because there’s only so long you remain this awesome
without getting better.
There’s only a few articles this issue, including a bunch of
thoughts Owen had about three Bandai Namco games,
and a look back at Portal before it was Portal by Adam.
The reason for the lack of articles is to make room
for this bunch of previews, including several more
from gamescom visitors Calum and Marcello. In the
meantime, Kayla became a Space Tyrant, Simon made
an evil Dungeons 3 and Thomas joined Sonic Forces.
On the review side of things, it’s also a bumper selection.
Tyler threw the Circuit Breakers so he could visit the
Planet of the Eyes, the Mages of Mystralia cast a spell
on Nathan, and Blake tried to catch The Escapists 2.
Meanwhile Steven raced through the Mantis Burn Racing
Battle Cars DLC and round and round in Project CARS 2,
and Kayla reviewed both the single and multiplayer of
Divinity Original Sin 2.

Detached Gamescom Preview

VR games are all the rage nowadays, with everyone from indie developers to AAA studios trying their hand at it. Thanks to the amazing level of immersion inherent in the tech, space VR games have been a staple of the platform since its early days.

Cosmic Kites Gamescom Preview

At gamescom 2017, I had the opportunity to check out some upcoming games from a host of Swedish developers. Joining in for some local-party fun, I checked out Cosmic Kites from Fishmoose Interactive.

Wild West Online Preview

Seeing as Rockstar won’t come to its senses and launch any Red Dead Redemption titles on the PC, computer players have very few options to experience the wild, wild west in all its immersive 3D glory. Besides Ubisoft’s hit and-miss Call of Juarez franchise -- whose sole good title was Bound In Blood -- the only other notable old west game was 2005’s fantastic Gun, which has aged quite a bit by now.

Planetoid Pioneers Preview

When I first saw a trailer for Planetoid Pioneers, I was instantly intrigued. It ticked all of my boxes - grappling hook, physics based plat former (I’m easy to please). Sign me up. Heck, check either of those boxes and I’m at least intrigued…

AER - Memories Of Old Gamescom Preview

Arriving at Daedalic Entertainment at gamescom 2017, I was scheduled to see two titles that I’ve never heard before. The first of which was AER Memories of Old, developed by Forgotten Key, it’s a passion title the team have been working on for the last four years. Coming close to its October release, I got some hands-on game time at the Daedalic booth.

Sonic Forces Preview

The release of Sonic Mania heralded a change in the timeline of Sonic titles. The gaming world was treated to a sublime slice of Sonic nostalgia that managed to capitalise on the series’ greatest strengths, whilst modernising it enough to bring it in line with current platformers. With this in mind, it’s fair to say that Sonic Forces has a some big shoes to fill, and unfortunately, Sonic’s wee feet are several sizes too small for those big white and red trainers.
