In this issue

Welcome to the December 2016 issue of The
GameOn Magazine! Finishing off the year,
we have a huge issue, with so much content
that we had to bump some of it until next month!
That doesn’t even count the gamescom stuff we’re still
including. Hopefully you’ll find some Christmas ideas in
this issue, if you’ve still got time to buy them!
Speaking of which, amongst our articles you’ll find one
of our writers having decided that this issue would be
perfect for those thinking about a new processor for the
new year. Ryan covers all of the Intel CPUs, from the
mighty to the lowly, and explains them all to give you
an idea of what to look for in a new chip. Nathan also
does a good job of comparing PES 2017 against FIFA 17,
in case you’re undecided on which one to get someone
for Christmas.
We stuck a couple of interviews in as well, where we had
a chat to Mark Stevenson from the Yooka-Laylee team,
and two of the trio behind the government spy simulator
Orwell.
If you’re getting sick of our constant gamescom
coverage, don’t worry - Gary, Alex, Dom and Calum don’t
have much left to say on the matter. Just 13 in this issue,
including Watch_Dogs 2, The Crew: Calling All Units,
Steep and Prey. Simon also wrote up an overview of the
latest addition to the Elite Dangerous: Horizons season
pass: The Guardians. Have you tried it and found traces
of aliens yet?
Our reviews run the scope of genres, from puzzles to
shooters and World War 1 to space. Thomas constructed
a few words about Dragon Quest Builders, SphericalCat
broke Fractured Space wide open, and Gary got a
handle on Manual Samuel. Old McSimon had a Farming
Simulator 17, while Tyler got civilised with Sid Meier’s
Civilization VI. There are loads more, but I’ve run out of
jokes…
The next time I write one of these, everyone will be
preparing for New Year! And after rollercoaster ride that
has been 2016, I’m sure few people can wait.
