Welcome to issue 171 of The GameOn Magazine! Happy New Year! Now that’s out of the way, let’s see what we had left in 2023, because this issue comes out before we could possibly have seen what 2024 has in store for us. Hopefully fewer delays and mass layoffs across the industry!
While we’re a bit lighter than usual on the articles, that doesn’t mean they’re not worth your time. Ariel has a look at Counter-Strike 2’s release, Jacob checks out martial arts, and Dylan laments game announcements. There’s also an article about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, because we got to have a sit down with Stephen Oyoung, the voice actor behind Martin Li AKA Mister Negative!
Our previews this month have toads, zombies, mice, and pool cleaning. Two of the games will be out in the near future, one in the less near future, and one is available now in Steam Early Access.
Which brings us to our review section, which is a bumper crop to make up for the article shortcomings. There’s the good, the bad, and the in-between, from licensed stuff to sequels, spin-offs, AAA, and indies… Bennett discovered that ivory hunting is wrong in The Elephant Collection, while Violet cleaned the oceans in Loddlenaut, and Alana poured a cup of Pixel Cafe. Then Jacob showed us his GUNHEAD, Gary solved The Talos Principle 2, and Artura told us some Spells & Secrets.
