The big story right now is the all-new Range Rover, which will hit the road next spring starting at not a lot less than a hundred grand.
Can it possibly be worth that much? The new issue of 4x4 magazine has the answer – and while it's easy to be cynical about such a luxurious off-roader, the truth is that the Rangey is a technological masterpiece.
Those same words could apply to the Skoda Enyaq iV and Mercedes-Benz GLS, too, both of which are tested in this issue. So too is the Jeep Wrangler 80th Anniversary – and if pure off-road ability is what matters to you, it's the biggest masterpiece of the lot.
There's another Wrangler featured this month, in the shape of a very cool modified JL Rubicon. And if you're looking for masterpieces, look no further than Iceland – a very fine example of nature at its most imaginative, and a great place to explore aboard a Toyota Landcruiser converted into an off-road camper.
There's a ragged looking Defender 90 in this issue too, whose anonymous appearance hides the heart and soul of a classic street sleeper. Not to mention the annual Polaris ATV get-together which has just come to Britain for the first time.
And if Iceland is too much of a stretch, how about the North Pennines instead? That's where we've headed for this month's roadbook – which combines a variety of woodland, forestry and moortop lanes to create a route you'll love whatever you drive. Even if it's not a hundred grand's worth of brand new Range Rover…
