INNOVATION - What is an innovative city? This issue explores the broad but sometimes ambiguous notion of “innovation” in Canadian communities. Topics such as smart cities, the use of novel technologies, and innovative approaches to governance, economic development and citizen engagement are explored.

Informative, accessible and beautifully designed, Curb Magazine is one of Canada’s premier publications on the issues shaping cities, regions and rural areas today. Curb promotes knowledge-sharing across the country by publishing articles on innovative projects and research, best practices in planning and policy making, and community experience. Thoughtful, engaging articles explore a wide range of topics including urban design, housing, transportation, sustainability, civic engagement, and municipal and regional governance. Curb is produced by the City-Region Studies Centre through the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta.
