Lost ball

The snow was falling steadily as Sheriff Taylor made his way to Michael Reddick's house.

It had been snowing for over an hour, and the sheriff had passed a snowplow and several tow trucks along the way. He had been about to call it a day when the call from Michael came in. Since he would pass Michael's house on the way home, he told Deputy Stanley that he would take the call.

The sheriff pulled into the driveway alongside Michael's car.

The snow piled on the hood and windshield of Michael's car made Sheriff Taylor thankful that he had a carport at home, so that tomorrow wouldn't start with scraping snow and ice off his car.

He walked to the front door and rang the bell.
