Sexual Frequency

Understanding the optimal frequency of sexual activity.

This question is very exciting. According to religious scholars, humans should have sex only for reproduction; it should not be a means of play, joy, or entertainment because the sexual discharge (sperm and ovum) produced during sexual intercourse is a boon given by the gods.

According to religious texts, sexual fluid contains immense power and energy, which should be conserved and spent wisely.

Logicians argue that no matter how much sex a human being has, it is not harmful because nature has made creatures suitable for reproduction in large quantities. In ancient times, to increase the quality and quantity of the population, superior men were constantly employed to impregnate women. Exemptions were given in cases of polygamy, multiple wives of the king, and extramarital affairs. It is clear from these things that some people in society were employed only in the work of population growth and there was no side effect of it. All living beings mate without any limit; nature determines the number of children they have.

Osho said we should have sex excessively, all the time, and in every way because the desire for pleasure ends only when it is fully enjoyed and satisfied.

Both elements of creation and destruction are present in the universe. Creation does not happen as fast as destruction; hence, the rate of reproduction of organisms is very high. When an organism has a favourable climate, its population increases very rapidly, beit mosquitoes in the rain, insects crawling on the ground, or fish in a pond.
