Of Containers, Boxes And Moms

There is this unexplainable bond between mummies (surpassing economic or geographical barriers) and food containers (of all shapes and sizes), something I was first exposed to during my college days.

As hostellers we were constantly grubby and on the lookout for food, especially relishing edibles sent from home. Mostly, these food packages would arrive in disposable containers leaving no room for a goof-up. But once, a friend's mother sent cake in a lemon-yellow box with a flexible lid and the words 'Tupperware' embossed on the underside.

Blame it on our carefree youth but we didn't realise how sacrosanct those words were. The cake was polished off by our group of friends and somehow in the melee, that yellow rectangular container got carried off by someone, who was nibbling on the delicious crumbs at the bottom of the box.
